Insensitivity Training is holding auditions to add two members to the cast of improvisors. Insensitivity Training produces a weekly improv comedy show for the last 3 years. Playing at Yuk Yuk's in downtown Ottawa the weekly Sunday night show is a fast-paced and high octane improv show consisting of short-form games, and free form improvising. Members of the troupe also are invited to new shows such as DangerProv and improv festivals. We also play and organize several other improv events in Ottawa including the OTtawa Improv festival, the annual Christmas, Comedy, and Charity Show.

We are looking for people who are fun, creative, energetic improvisors. We need people who can commit to a rehearsal and show on Sunday nights, and to be available for special events throughout the year.

No prior improv experience is necessary,

The auditions will be held on Sunday May 31st at Yuk Yuk's on 292 Elgin St.. The Auditions will start at 5:30pm and please dress comfortably for the workshop as we will be playing a variety of improv games and exercises. Also, feel free bring a headshot and resume if you have it, but it is absolutely not necessary.

Insensitivity Training French Kisses this weekend

It's time for Insensitivity Training to get a French Kiss; we bring you our classic Team vs Team challenge.

The amazing Ligue d'Improvisation Étudiante Universitaire (or LIEU) will be facing off with Insensitivity Training for bragging rights. The two teams will exchange improv challenge in a two hour mash up of english... "Whose Line" and French style "Arena Improv". This is a clash of Titans as the heavy weights of the Ottawa Improv scene take it to the basement for supremacy. This show as epic last year and promises not to disappoint. Where will you be?

No Team vs Team this weekend... Bigger party planned

We got to tell ya. Sorry we won’t be having a team in this Sunday night. We normally do a Team vs. Team at the end of the month, but we the onslaught of talented teams at the Improv festival we’re going to play this month chill. We also have another big reason to celebrate. Our young grasshopper Chelsea turns 21 this weekend.

Please come out and see the show. Dont you dare bring presents, we are charging you at the door after all. And for those of you who dont know me well enough to even feel obliged to get me presents, rock on, I love the way things are between us.

But Next month we will be brining LIEU on Apr 25. LIEU is the french improv league from the University of Ottawa. They will be brining their all-star team to play a show in english. These guys are highly talented, if you didn’t get a chance to see them at the Ottawa Improv Festival, or last time at our Team vs Team. Check out some photos from last time they played at Yuk Yuk’s

2010 Improv Festival Wrap-up

Thanks so much. This was a fantastic experience of epic awesomeness. We knew we’d have a good time, but never expected so much support and participation from everyone. This was the first time the Ottawa Improv Festival has happened in decades and, we’ve learned a lot. We would love to hear any suggestions and feedback you have, because we want to do this again next year! It was great seeing all of the different troupes come together and to see so many faces from the local improv community. Also, we need to thank our amazing team of volunteers whom we could never have done this without.

So, after little to no consideration we have decided that we are doing it all over again in 2011! Missing the Improv already? Go check out all the improv around the city, it’s pretty incredible. IT on Sundays, Crush and Crystal Basement on Tuesdays, MIFO on Wednesdays, la LIEU on Thursdays, L.A.I.T.U.E. on Fridays.And rumour has it we might see an improcrastination show coming up. We are speechless, impressed, inundated and so grateful for all the improv love we have received. Mark our words, next year we will be back bigger, better and shiner then ever!
